Nollywood actress, Foluke Daramola Salako, has voiced her thoughts regarding the recent spate of domestic violence in marriages and relationships, and the current economic downturn rocking the country.
The actress in an open letter to Nigerians, advised couples to help and respect one another during this current economic recession Nigeria is facing.
She wrote online, “With the current situation of Nigeria and different happenings, the least we should do is help each other as spouses. These rise in domestic violence is heart breaking and alarming.
“Living in Nigeria and surviving takes the Grace of God.
“Prayer is the key.
“The need to avoid conflicts in any form is paramount.
“Many people are angry, and frustrated and are ready to kill at any little provocation, patience is key, ignore as much as possible, its better safe than sorry.
“Our men please control your anger, we know how hard it is to meet up on bills and everything, please don’t take it down on your wife and family, let your home be a place of refuge not a war zone.
“Women! Women! Women! We should learn to control our mouths! This is not the time to start complaining, and nagging your husband, you too do something for your family, give him your body and soul, no complain of being tired oh,” she wrote.
