St Agatha’s Awareness Walk (for special needs) to hold in Lagos

Are you touched to see people and would love to help people with Down Syndrome, Hydrocephalus, Autism, Spina Bifida and Cerebral Palsy?

Then you should free your diary for Saturday June 25 with St Agatha’s Special Needs Centre for the St Agatha Awareness Wall for Special Needs.

Agatha Obiageli Aghedo Memorial Foundation is a registered non profit organisation on a mission to assist the less privileged in local communities. Founded by Mrs Akhere Akran who is a wife, mother, educationist,  humanitarian and special needs advocate.

The St.Agatha’s Special Needs Centre is a project arm of the foundation. Founded in 2016 with a mission to assist less privileged families who have these angels but little or no resources to cater for them. The centre runs as a charity and offers respite, therapy and vocational training to these angels as well as counsel and support their parents.

As part of its mission which is to advocate and raise awareness for the inclusion and acceptance of these angels into our society,  we will be organising an awareness walk in Satellite town.

The walk comes up  from 10.30am.

Take off point : Community Road Satellite Town.

We hope that through this initiative we will be able to enlighten the community that these conditions (cerebral palsy, hydrocephalus, spina bifida, down syndrome, autism etc) are not contagious. That Disability is not inability and that no child should be left behind.

We are looking for partners and sponsors to support our work and walk !

  1. Mrs. Akhere Akran has a passion for this and it is a very commendable initiative especially giving the tough times being faced in Nigeria today. Let's turn out en masse to support this awareness walk.
